Column1 was created to bring you insightful analysis of critical issues, trends and prospects.  We don't write because of a schedule, but only when we believe we have something of interest to say.

WHO WE ARE 


IRV LEVESON is an economist with extensive experience analyzing societal change, economic and social policies and business decisions. He has worked at and consulted for diverse types of public and private organizations on a wide range of issues.


Dr. Leveson holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. He was the principal of Leveson Consulting from 1990-2021.  He has served as Director of Economic Studies of Hudson Institute and Senior Vice President and Director of Research of Hudson Strategy Group.  He also has held senior positions with the New York City Planning Commission and the New York City Health Services Administration and worked at the RAND Corporation and the National Bureau of Economic Research.  His books include Economic Security, American Challenges, Western Economies in Transition (co-ed.), The Future of the Financial Services Industry (main author), Analysis of Urban Health Problems (co-ed.) and Quantitative Explorations in Drug Abuse Policy (ed.).
